Defining Resiliency and Defining What Evidence is Needed to Advance It
Workshop Session
What does a resilient home look like in the Bow Valley and Alberta, and how do we make resilient housing the norm rather than the exception? This highly interactive workshop will explore how regional hazards such as wildfire, hail, flooding, smoke, and extreme heat are affecting housing today and how those risks may evolve in the future. Facilitated by experts from Natural Resources Canada and RDH Building Science, participants will work together to define what resilient housing should look like locally and identify the evidence, policies, incentives, financing mechanisms, and industry supports needed to advance it. Bringing together local governments, builders, developers, insurers, housing professionals, and other decision-makers, the session will help build a shared regional understanding of resilience and identify practical pathways for turning that vision into action.
