This Canmore PHIUSzero certified Cold Climate home prioritizes resilience and sustainability. Fire safety is paramount with non-combustible roofing, siding, soffits, and spark and ember-resistant ventilation. Mineral wool insulation exterior insulation, oversized timber framing, class A decking and fire-wise landscaping further enhance protection. Rainwater collection aids fire protection.
Consistent temperature, indoor air quality and humidity is ensured using geothermal heating, and innovative ventilation. High performance prefabricated, negative-carbon components are used in a simplified, reproducible building envelope allowing for diverse aesthetics. Includes cold climate windows and exterior blinds. The interior features flexible "spaces to live in,". The design integrates with the environment.
